Kawaii Weirdo: Reasons why I think Adam's changing
Alright, you guys all know that I was almost traumatized yesterday when I heard the new Shooting Star EP (bawling my eyes out for like 2 hours). I’ll start this off by giving you my reasons for having such a strong reaction to this.
I will admit that I found Adam by hearing Fireflies on the…
…I like his new songs and all. They’re just so different.
I feel like I’m listening to the radio.
Which isn’t necessarily bad. I just get the feeling that he was pressured/he decided to try to make this more of a radio hit album.
I’m just feeling so conflicted. On one hand, I’m super excited that we have new music and that the songs are pretty good.
But I just loved getting swept up into those “The Real World” type songs. Where you didn’t really know what he was singing about, but you didn’t even care because the metaphors and the synths were so dreamy. I just really enjoyed the abstract feel of it all. How the lyrics could be interpreted in different ways.
Everything we see and feel is just our brain making sense of what our nerves send up. Nobody knows what’s actually out there.
You may very well be a lonely brain in a dark room with someone’s life being projected into your spinal cord. There’d be no difference.
